Hello guys! I will be writing blog on "Engineering Management" (EM). EM is something that fascinates me with the amazing subjects that are really applicable in real world scenario. As an engineer when you grow in your professional life, you need to explore and gain managerial skills. I got to know this much later until I reached in a managerial post in my career.
In Nepal, generally most engineers choose to study construction management, project management, engineering project management etc; These subjects are popular and are in trend. But I believe EM is not the less. So, I will be updating you guys with the great contents and topics which I personally liked about and are equally useful in our professional life.
So, Let's begin with the question, What is engineering management?
As we can guess by it's name, it is the blend of technical engineering expertise with management skills to direct or manage the complex engineering projects lead by a good team. I am a strong believer that every person should either be a good leader or a good follower. Dear engineers, if you want to be a good leader then what are you waiting for? This is a perfect match for you.
We engineers, mostly focus on our core subjects. Which is good. But at some point we really need managerial skills to lead a team and successfully complete a project. This is highly recommend to those who manage both technical and administrative aspects of engineering projects.
We will explore and get in dive into following interesting topics in near future.
- Project Management
- Engineering Economics
- Human Resource Management
- Quality Management
- Organizational Behavior etc;
